LAHORE: Naseem Shah and Mohammad Rizwan have made notable strides in the latest ICC Test Player Rankings. Naseem has climbed to 37th place in the bowlers’ rankings, reflecting his recent strong performances. Rizwan has ascended to 17th place in the batsmen’s rankings, benefiting from the recent shifts in the rankings. After a brilliant showing in the second Test against South Africa in Guyana, West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales has risen to a career-high position of 13th in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings. Despite his team’s tight 40-run loss, which allowed South Africa to win the ICC World Test Championship series 1-0, Seales remained as the top wicket-taker with 9 dismissals. He moved up 13 spots in the rankings as a result of his outstanding performance, making him the highest-ranked West Indian Test bowler.

Additionally, there were slight improvements made by spinners Jomel Warrican and Gudakesh Motie, who went up two spots each to 52nd and 64th, however. Shamar Joseph, a fast bowler, rose a remarkable 11 places to 54th in the bowling rankings, thus improving the West Indies’ presence. Naseem moved up to 37th place while Kyle Mayers fell to 38th. After taking six wickets in the match, South Africa’s Player of the Match, Wiaan Mulder, shot up 27 ranks to 65th place. Meanwhile, off-spinner Dane Piedt moved up nine spots to 66th place after his efforts against the West Indies.

After making significant contributions in the second innings, South Africa’s Aiden Markram rose two spots to rank 21st while Kyle Verreynne rose from 62nd to 46th in the batting order. Rizwan moved up to 17th place because of Temba Bavuma’s four-spot slip. Scott Edwards of the Netherlands moved up six spots to 26th in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings in recent ICC rankings updates, largely due to his outstanding results in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2. In the batting rankings, Vikramjit Singh of the Netherlands and Aaron Jones of the USA both advanced significantly, moving up 11 and 9 spots, respectively.
