LAHORE: The draft of the ninth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) is scheduled to be held on December 14 in Lahore, immediately after the conclusion of National T20 Cup. A meeting of the Pakistan Super League governing council took place at the National Cricket Academy on Tuesday in Lahore, chaired by Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the PCB management committee. Representatives from all six PSL franchises, along with PCB officials, participated in a productive and in-depth discussion covering various topics, including operational and logistical aspects of the upcoming PSL9 edition. Given the announcement of the general election set to take place in February 2024, there was unanimous agreement to promptly seek formal advice from the government of Pakistan to finalize the exact dates and venues for PSL9. The PCB will initiate the process by writing a formal letter to the interior ministry, seeking guidance on whether it is feasible to host PSL 9 in Pakistan during the election period or if it should be relocated to another country, most probably UAE. The final decision on the venue will be contingent upon the government’s directive. The ninth edition is tentatively scheduled for 8 February to 24 March 2024.
