BERLIN (Agencies): Borussia Dortmund have signed Germany midfielder Pascal Gross from Brighton & Hove Albion, both clubs said on Thursday. Gross has signed a two-year contract with the Bundesliga club and leaves Brighton after seven season with the Premier League side, where he made 261 appearances in all competitions, scoring 32 goals. “In terms of his contribution on the pitch, Pascal goes down as the club’s greatest-ever Premier League signing,” Brighton chairman Tony Bloom said. “He has been with us since the start of the Premier League era, and has been such a superb player for us.” Gross, 33, was Brighton’s first signing after they won promotion to the Premier League in 2017, joining from FC Ingolstadt, who had just been relegated from the Bundesliga. “We are very happy that we can bring Pascal back to the Bundesliga,” Borussia’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl said. “With his calmness on the ball, his outstanding passing and positional play and his versatility, he gives our team new facets” Gross made his international debut in 2023, and had played eight times for Germany scoring one goal, and was included in their squad for Euro 2024 where he came off the bench in their opening game, a 5-1 win over Scotland.
